On Tuesday I got a call from my Dr's office that he needed to reschedule my appt due to an emergency surgery he was called in for. There was no way I could wait another few days before going in to see him (I was seriously that miserable) so they scheduled me to see one of Dr Beattie's colleges.
Brandon and I went in for the appt and met with Dr Jones. She checked me out and looked over my blood results. Sure enough, toxemia had set in. She informed us that I was 4cm dilated and 80% effaced. She left to call Dr Beattie to see what he wanted us to do and when she came back, she gave us the news I had been longing for... "Head on over to Labor and Delivery, you're going to have a baby!" Since toxemia had set in and my body was progressing to delivery, they didn't want to chance the health of the baby.
When the Dr told us we were having a baby I just looked over and Brandon and we both had tears in our eyes. I almost hugged Dr Jones! We left the office in excitement and it just seemed so surreal.
The walk over to the hospital is when the calls started. I tried calling Mom first but it just kept going to VM. I then called Dad and told him the news. Of course you could here the emotion in his voice too. We were all so excited. Dad said Mom was at the dentist and he would track her down. He also made the rest of the family calls for us. Brandon started calling his family once we got into the waiting room.
All we could think about was "is this really happening?", "Are we really going to be parents?!?!"
