Baby Is Moving!
After work on Monday, I went on a cleaning rampage. Every nook and cranny got hit. 2 hours later, I crashed on the couch to wait for Brandon to get home from work -- He had to pull a late night closing down a couple stores at Tuttle so he didn't get home until 10:30 or so. As I was sitting there I felt a sudden flip sensation on the left side of my belly. It was the first distinctive movement I've felt. It was so exciting! Other than the expanding waste line, I haven't really felt pregnant. Well now I feel pregnant. I can feel our little peanut moving. Its such and incredible feeling.

Its A Suprise!
Everyone keeps asking what we're having... I tell them we're having a baby. (wink)
Seriously though, we don't want to know the sex. To me, its something special not to know and get the surprise news on delivery day. I think Brandon agrees... or he's just agreeing for my sake.

Decorating the Nursery
Since the nursery is already decorated in red stained wainscoting and striped wallpaper, we only need to find wall decorations to complete the nursery. No complaints here!
After church yesterday, Brandon and I decided to look for some crafty things to decorate the nursery. We stopped at Michael's Crafts and bought large wooden letters to spell out BABY. We then went on the hunt for square blocks to put behind the letters but everything we found was just way too expensive. I'll keep my eye out for a deal in the next several months. We also picked up some dark brown satin ribbon to tie the letter blocks to the wall. Hopefully our idea will be cute.
We checked out Home Depot for paint swatches to take home and match to the wallpaper so we can paint the lettering and blocks accordingly. When our art project is complete we'll post a picture of our handiwork.

4 Month Check-Up
Our 4 month check-up was yesterday morning. According to the Dr, baby sounds strong and healthy. Baby's heartbeat is at 152 beats/minute and I've gained 8 lbs. We're right on track!
Fun Stuff:
Many people believe that if a baby's heartbeat registers more than 140 beats/minute than its a girl. Absolutely everyone that looks at me "just knows for sure" we're having a girl. HAHA I guess we'll just have to wait and see. So far I have only gained weight in my belly.

Elastic Waist Pants
My waistline has changed significantly the past week or so. Sunday, after church, Brandon and I went on a pre-maternity clothes hunt. I settled on two pairs of elastic waist pants... oh how my fashion is changing!

Baby Bump at 16 wks
The past few days have been quite a challenge in the clothing dept. On Thursday I tried on 5 pairs of pants before I found a pair I could button around my waist. Its official... Baby is demanding more room. Thursday evening was the purge. More than 3/4 of my wardrobe was packed away. The expanding waistline has been a difficult adjustment, but I'm starting to get used to it.
Today Natalie and I are doing some shopping so hopefully I can find some bigger clothes. I struggle with spending any money on clothing I know I won't be wearing for very long. Too bad I can't just wear sweats everywhere.

The Nursery (stage 1)
This is the start to Baby Canterbury's nursery...
The crib mattress is a gift from Grandma White. She said the crib looked sad without anything in it.
And thanks to mom for the great find on the crib and changing table. We are very fortunate mom works at Pottery Barn! She's been a huge help in finding all the things little peanut will need.
Baby Canterbury even has a few stuffed toys...
Maternity bear is from Teresa Smith (work), blue puppy is from Kristina Coppus (work), OSU bear is from Uncle David, and the OSU ball was knit by Grandma's friend D___.
